Alas...The End Has Come

So, I sit in my dad's office on Sunday night at 6:30 writing this entry, and all my mind can focus on is two words: It's Over. Well, I guess that's a bit of an understatement. My mind is thinking about a lot of things, but they all revolve around those two words.

That's right. Big River is over. The last performance was last night. It was so much fun, and, just like I said I would, I cried. Not because the play was over, though. Because Reverend Bell and his daughter, Bree, are moving across the country. His last sermon at his church was today, and almost the entire cast and crew came. He touched all of our hearts, and I don't think anyone is ever going to forget him. I know I won't. Bree and I became friends over the course of the play, and I'm going to send her so many letters, emails, etc., that she will get sick and tired of me. But she'll still write me back, because she's great that way.

Rev. Bell had worked songs from the musical into his sermon, and when he sang "Leaving's not the Only Way To Go," with the people who played Mary Jane and Huck, I was in tears. It's been such a blessing to work with him. I don't think he even knows quite how much he means to all of us.

On a happier note, my drama career is far from over. Student directed one acts are coming up (unfortunately I probably won't be able to participate in those, but we'll see how things work out) and I plan on being a techie for the big musical, the one only Junior and Senior honor-choir students are allowed to be in. Plus, there's always the play at the end of the year.

Am I sad about the end, of course. But this is just the beginning.
