Um...Ew!
A group from my church youth group and myself went to the Fine Arts Festival last weekend. Unfortunately, we didn't book our hotel room early enough, so almost all of the hotels were sold out. There was one left, USA Inns. Personally, I would have rather slept in the car.
One of the first things that my roommate, Kelsey noticed about our room was that the coffee had not been emptied out. Upon further investigation, we found little white fuzzy spots floating on the top. Not only this, but there was trash under our beds, the sheets smelled funny, and the walls were paper-thin. Dad, who came on the trip as a sponsor, could not fall asleep because he could hear the voices of the teenagers outside. Apparently, one of them fell against the wall, which caused Dad's bed to move despite the fact that we were on the second floor! On top of all this, he had to take a cold bath because there was no hot water and he couldn't figure out how to get the shower to turn on. And finally, when we got back to the hotel from a concert, I was parched. Of course, I didn't want to drink anything that came from the faucet in our room, so I borrowed 75 cents from Dad to buy a bottle of water from the vending machines outside the front door. The thing was THREE INCHES TALL!!!! It was the smallest bottle of water I'd ever seen!
However, other than these set backs, the trip was actually very fun. The two sign language groups we brought (one of them being Kelsey’s and mine) tied for first place and got invited to nationals, as did our sign language solo. Needless to say, we were all very happy. God was very good to us.
